Chain components are an essential part of many bulk handling systems that convey materials such as powders, grains, flakes and pellets.
We provide two types of chain conveyors, sourced from industry leader 4B, both of which use drop forged chains.
Chain components are an essential part of many bulk handling systems that convey materials such as powders, grains, flakes and pellets.
We provide two types of chain conveyors, sourced from industry leader 4B, both of which use drop forged chains.
These are mainly used in agricultural applications. Material is fed into the conveyor from the top and falls through a moving chain to the bottom of the box. Because the particles interlock, the material moves as a single stream at the same speed as the chain. Here the flight height can be as low as 12.5% of the material being transported, allowing nearly the entire conveyor cross-section to move as bulk – a highly efficient process.
This technology is mainly used in industrial applications where the material height being transported is often less than or equal to the flight height (although ca be more depending on the application). Drag conveying literally “pulls” the material along and speeds are often much slower than en-masse conveying.
Drag chain conveyors fall into the following categories:
We also supply bucket elevator bolts, chain components and monitoring equipment from 4B.
